The Leaderboard Story

A leaderboard can feel mean if it's done wrong. Show people how far behind the top players they are, and suddenly gaming stops being fun and becomes a grinding chore. That's the opposite of what we wanted. Entertainment shouldn't feel exhausting. So we built ours differently, with fairness in mind.

First: the tiers. You play against people near your own score range, not the absolute top players. The UK's best poker mind isn't crushing you on the leaderboard—they're in their own tier, playing their own race. You're racing people at your level. That keeps it motivating instead of demoralizing.

Second: we reset seasonally. Your summer scores don't haunt you into autumn. Every quarter, the board clears and everyone starts fresh. New season, new leaderboard, new chance to climb. No one's locked into the bottom because they played poorly in month one.

And third: we celebrate the top earners, but we also celebrate new players. First-time thousand-point earner? That matters. We highlight it. You don't need to be rank one to feel like you're winning—you just need to see your own progress.

The leaderboard is meant to be a snapshot of who's hot right now. Not a judgment. Not a wall you can never climb. It's just: 'Here's where we all stand this quarter.' Simple, fair, fun.
